8 Best WordPress Plug-ins in 2019
We round up 8 of the Best WordPress Plug-ins in 2019. Plug-ins that we love to use and just can’t live without. Let us know if we missed any plug-ins that you just can’t live without.
For the uninitiated WordPress website designer, I always liken plug-ins to apps on a phone. Plug-ins are used to accomplish a specific task and are created independently of WordPress itself. Some are meant for security, while others are meant to add functionality to the website itself.
Wordfence is one of the “No Brainer” plug-ins I always install. Would you leave your home without locking your door? I hope you said no if you said yes I hope you live in the town of Mayberry circa 1960s as it would pretty foolish in just about any town today. All kidding aside you need to secure your website and Wordfence explains their plug-in here:
“Protect your websites with the best WordPress security available.
Wordfence includes an endpoint firewall and malware scanner that

It includes 6 different display types and multiple trigger events and includes 16 Email Marketing Integrations. Bloom gives you the power to display opt-in forms using integrations of the most popular email marketing systems available. Monarch is The Best Social Media Sharing Plugin For WordPress. Take Social Sharing to the Next Level with MONARCH, a Social Media Plugin with Style. What I like most about Monarch is that it feels like it loads faster and doesn’t slow my site down like all of the other social share buttons I’ve used before. Speed is crucial for any website today. I also like how I can theme the colors to match my website and place the icons in 5 different locations. It’s very flexible and elegant. And like everything from Elegant Themes its fully responsive and mobile friendly.
Yoast is The #1 WordPress SEO plugin. It pretty much holds your hand and walks you through setting up proper on-page SEO for each page on your website. They incorporate the traffic signal image into their logo because they use it in the plug-in itself to show you how you are doing at each SEO task. They provide hints on how to go from red to yellow to green. So basically if your on-page SEO isn’t up to par it’s your own fault (haha). Seriously though I have been using Yoast for as long as I have been designing WordPress websites I kind of feel naked without their plug-in.
All In One Schema Rich Snippets helps you control how your page looks in the search results.
WHAT IS A RICH SNIPPET?
It is basically a short summary of your page in the search results of Google, Yahoo, Bing and sometimes in the Newsfeed of Facebook in a nice format with star ratings, author photo, image, etc.
See Examples of Rich Snippets Here.
- It gives search engines only the important & precise information to display in search result snippets.
- Rich Snippets are very interactive (photos, star ratings, price, author, etc.) to let you stand out from competition
- See what difference it makes in CTR (Click Through Rate)
- Helps you rank higher in search results
- Helps Facebook display proper information when users share your links on Facebook
McAfee Secure displays the Trustmark on your website, increasing visitor confidence, and conversion rates. You should already be using an SSL on your website as it makes your site more secure by encrypting data to and from your server. Adding the McAfee SECURE Trustmark goes a step further by proving this to your potential customer. They say this about their Trustmark:
“See if you can trust a site.
Every McAfee SECURE certified site is tested and certified to be free of malware, viruses, phishing attacks, and other things that can harm you and your computer.
For increased protection, use the McAfee SECURE certification insight and see which sites are SECURE as you browse with Chrome.”
Smush Image Compression and Optimization Reduces image file sizes, improves performance and boosts your SEO using the free WPMU DEV WordPress Smush API. I use Adobe Photoshop CC and it allows me to control the size and compression ratio of all the images I put on my website and my client’s websites. However, sometimes clients put their own images up and they do not have Photoshop so I need to have a plug-in that helps to reduce the file size of those images. This is what I like about Smush. They provide their description as follows:
